Shalom Together seeks to expand God’s Kingdom by actively cultivating wholeness, right relationships, and harmony with God and creation. By focusing on these values, our community can reveal God through our fruit and contribute to the ongoing work of reconciliation in the world.
Seek the shalom of the place where are, and pray to the LORD on its behalf, for in its shalom you will find your shalom. (Jeremiah 29:7)
Wholeness and Well-being
Shalom includes the physical, emotional, and spiritual health and completeness of individuals and the community. It speaks to a state where nothing is missing or broken within a person.
Right Relationships
Shalom focuses on harmonious and just relationships between people. It encompasses reconciliation, forgiveness, mutual respect, and living in community with love and understanding.
Harmony with God and Creation
Shalom restores peace and right ordering between humanity and God, as well as humanity and the created world. It involves stewardship, respect for creation, and living in accordance with God’s will.

Shalom means far more than peace. It is a rich word that encompasses holistic well-being, completeness, justice, and flourishing in all aspects of life. It speaks to a state of rightness and harmony—with oneself, with others, with God, and with the entire created world.
Shalom is central to understanding God’s Kingdom, not as a future heavenly realm, but a present reality that manifests wherever God’s will is done on earth as it is in heaven.

God’s Design
From the creation story, we see God’s intention for a world characterized by Shalom—harmony between humanity and God, between one another, and between humanity and creation. Sin disrupted this Shalom, leading to brokenness and conflict.

Jesus as the Prince of Peace
Jesus life, death, and resurrection are the ultimate act of reconciliation, breaking down barriers between humanity and God and offering the possibility of Shalom in all relationships. His teachings emphasize love, forgiveness, and justice—all essential elements of Shalom.

Living in the Kingdom Now
When we live according to the values of God’s Kingdom—love, justice, compassion, forgiveness—we are actively participating in bringing forth Shalom in our spheres of influence. Our actions, motivated by God’s love, create pockets of Shalom within this world still marked by brokenness.
